License and terms
Plain language on purpose
The bold sentences are the ones that matter. The same text ships in every download as TERMS.md.
1. What you bought
One license per person. It covers installing and running PriestAI on machines you own or control. It is yours for good — no subscription, no activation, nothing to phone home to. It includes updates through the release channel for one year from purchase; after that, what you have keeps working forever.
2. What you may not do
You may not redistribute PriestAI — free or paid, modified or not. The source code ships readable so you can verify what the product does; that is transparency, not open source. You may read it, modify it for your own use, and prove any claim we make against it. You may not publish it, sell it, or ship it inside something else.
3. The models are yours, and so is what they say
PriestAI runs models you choose, install, and prompt — including uncensored ones. It does not create, filter, endorse, or review what they produce. You are responsible for what you ask for, what you do with the output, and for using the software lawfully where you live. If a model you installed says something wrong, offensive, or harmful, that is between you and the model you chose to run.
4. No warranty
PriestAI is provided AS IS, with no warranty of any kind — no promise that it is error-free, fit for any particular purpose, or uninterrupted. The test suite in the box (python run-tests.py) is offered so you can measure it yourself; it is evidence, not a guarantee.
5. Limit of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, total liability for any claim arising from this software is capped at the amount you paid for it. No indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost data, lost profit, lost time — are recoverable, even if we were told they were possible. Some jurisdictions limit these exclusions; where they do, these terms apply to the fullest extent permitted.
6. Your data
PriestAI sends nothing anywhere by itself. Update checks run only when you press the button; problem reports compose on your screen and go nowhere until you send them. If you seat a paid cloud model, your prompts go to that provider under that provider's terms — that is your choice and your relationship with them.
7. Support and updates
Support is best-effort through the address on the News panel. Releases fix what reports surface, on no promised schedule. Nothing in these terms obliges any particular fix, feature, or timeline.
8. Termination
Break section 2 and the license ends. Everything in sections 3–5 survives.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable where you live, the rest stands.
